𝗔𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗯𝘀 & 𝗜𝗱𝗶𝗼𝗺𝘀 (20):

ثَبِّتْ عَرْشَكَ ثُمَّ ٱنْقُشْ / أَثْبِتْ عَرْشَكَ ثُمَّ ٱنْقُشْ Lit. Establish your throne before you begin engraving (on it) Meaning: Prove that your claim is true before you begin drawing conclusions from it. You will come across this proverb quite frequently when reading through knowledge-based refutations and discourses. For example, Sheikh Albāni raḥimahullāh would often quote this proverb in his discussions on ḥadīth, and in most cases what he intends by it is: that one must establish the authenticity of a ḥadīth before taking it as evidence.
