Splitting one Āyah over two rak'ahs His Eminence, Imām ’Abdul-’Azīz ibn Bāz raḥimahullāh was asked in one of his lessons about an imām who led the congregation prayer by dividing the Āyah of Ad-Dayn (the longest Āyah in the Qur'ān - Al-Baqarah 282) over two rak’ahs, what is the ruling? The Sheikh raḥimahullāh smiled and said: “This is the first time I have come across this question,” then he said: “There is nothing wrong with that, but if he completes it, then that is best.” [Sunday 22/5/1419 H]
