Fireworks & firecrackers:

When Sheikh ’Uthaymīn raḥimahullāh was asked about fireworks, he said: الذي أرى أن بيعها وشراءها حرام، وذلك لوجهين: الوجه الأول: أنها إضاعة للمال، وإضاعة المال محرمة، لنهي النبي ﷺ عن ذلك. والثاني: أن فيها أذية للناس بأصواتها المزعجة، وربما يحدث منها حرائق إذا وقعت على شيء قابل للاحتراق، وهي حية لم تطفأ. فمن أجل هذين الوجهين نرى أنها حرام، وأنه لا يجوز بيعها ولا شراؤها. I consider it ḥarām to buy and sell them for two reasons: The first: It's a waste of money, and wasting money is forbidden... The second: It causes harms people with its disturbing sounds, and it may set off fires if it falls on something combustible...
