And more specifically, during the odd nights of the last ten nights, due to saying of the Prophet ﷺ: “Seek it in the last ten days, and seek it on the odd night

Therefore, according to the strongest opinion, Laylatul Qadr occurs in one of the odd nights from the last ten nights of Ramaḍhān. 🔺Note 1: Sheikh ’Uthaymīn raḥimahullāh concluded that Laylatul Qadr does not always occur on the same odd night everytime, rather it varies between one of the odd nights from year to year. For example, during the Prophet's lifetime it occurred on the 21st night on one particular year; reported by Bukhāri & Muslim from the ḥadīth of Abū Sa’ēd, and on another year it occurred on one of the last 7 nights; reported by Bukhāri & Muslim from Ibn ’Umar. [Sharḥ Mumti’] 🔺Note 2: Laylatul Qadr could fall on one of the even nights, which is why a wise person strives throughout the last ten. https://t.me/madrasatuna/1463 Stop guessing and grab the whole set! https://t.me/madrasatuna/937 ➢ 5. How does one take advantage of this night? • Offer the obligatory prayers in Jamā’ah. Ash-Shāfi‘ē raḥimahullāh said: “Whoever offers ’Ishā' and Fajr in congregation on Laylatul Qadr has indeed attained his portion from it.” [Laṭā'if Al-Ma‘ārif (340)] This statement illustrates the deep understanding of this noble imām; as is is proven by the following narration: Abdurraḥmān ibn ‘Abī ‘Amrah reported: 'Uthmān ibn ‘Affān entered the masjid after the ’Ishā' prayer and sat alone. I also sat alone with him, so he said: “O son of my brother, I heard the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) say: He who observes the 'Ishā' prayer in congregation, it is as if he prayed half of the night, and he who prays the Fajr prayer in congregation, it is as if he prayed the whole night.” [Muslim] • Offer the night prayers • Repeat the following Dhikr: ’Ā'ishah raḍhiyallāhu ‘anhā said: “O Messenger of Allāh, what should I say in my supplication if I reach Laylatul-Qadr?" He said: "Say: اللهم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني (O Allāh, You are Forgiving and love to forgive, so forgive me).'" 🔺Note: Sisters experiencing menses during this night are encouraged to repeat these words often. What's so special about this Dhikr? https://t.me/madrasatuna/1468 🔺Note: Sheikh ’Uthaymīn raḥimahullāh mentioned that specifying acts of worship at particular times without evidence is an act of innovation, thus specifying Laylatul Qadr to perform ’Umrah is an innovation. ’Umrah is recommended throughout Ramaḍhān without specifying a particular day. [Sharḥ Al-Mumti’] ➢ 6. What are some of the signs of Laylatul Qadr? (1) The night is calm and pleasant The Prophet ﷺ said: “It is a night in which the sky is clear, neither hot nor cold.” [Ibn Khuzaymah & Ibn Bazzār - the ḥadīth is ḥasan] (2) It may rain either on the night or the morning after Abū Sa‘ēd Al-Khudrī raḍhiyallāhu ’anhu saie: “We practiced I’tikāf in the middle third of the month of Ramaḍhān with the Prophet (ﷺ). In the morning of the 20th of Ramaḍhān, the Prophet (ﷺ) came and addressed us and said, 'I was informed of (the date of Laylatul Qadr) but I was caused to forget it; so search for it in the odd nights of the last ten nights of the month of Ramaḍhān. (In the dream) I saw myself prostrating in mud and water (as a sign). So, whoever was in I’tikāf with me should return to it with me (for another 10-days)', and we returned. At that time there was no sign of clouds in the sky, but suddenly a cloud came and it rained till rainwater started leaking through the roof of the masjid which was made of date-palm leaf stalks. Then the prayer was established and I saw Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) prostrating in mud and water and I saw the traces of mud on his forehead.” [Bukhāri & Muslim] (3) The sun rises the following morning without any rays The Prophet ﷺ said: “The sun rises bright on that day without any rays.” [Muslim]
