(16) Reciting the Qunūt as though one is reciting the Qur'ān is an innovation

https://t.me/madrasatuna/1475 The Lajnah Ad-Dā'imah was asked the following question (21263): Question: We have an Imām who recites the supplication in the night prayer during Ramaḍhān in a melodious tone, and he supplicates with a voice similar to his voice when reciting the Qur’ān. Likewise, most of his supplications rhyme, and he prolongs the supplication for a noticeable length. When he was spoken to about that, he explained that these are virtuous nights, and that some of the sick and those afflicted with misfortune request him to supplicate in hope that Allāh responds. Answer: What's legislated is for the supplicant to avoid rhyming in his supplication and not to go overboard in this, and that he supplicates in a state of humility and submission, manifesting his need and insufficiency before Allāh. This is a more likely reason for his supplication to be accepted and answered. The supplicant should not make his supplication resemble the Qur'ān, whereby he observes the rules of Tajwīd and recites in a melodious manner like the Qur'ān. This is not known from the guidance of the Prophet ﷺ, nor from the guidance of his Companions. Likewise, the supplicant should not prolong the supplication to a degree where it becomes burdensome upon the attendees, but rather he must shorten it, and he should observe the comprehensive supplications and avoid other than that as indicated by the Sunnah. (17) Don't wipe your face after the supplication of Qunūt. Sheikh Albāni raḥimahullāh said: “As for using them (the hands) to wipe the face, this has not come in this position (i.e. after Witr Qunūt), so it is an innovation. As for outside the prayer, then it is not established, and everything that is reported concerning that is weak; some weaker than others, as I have verified in 'Ḍha’īf Abī Dāwūd' (262) and 'Al-Aḥādīth Aṣ-Ṣaḥīḥah' (597).” [Ṣifah Aṣ-Ṣalāh] (18) Begging is not permissible, so stop humiliating yourself in front of the people. https://t.me/madrasatuna/1522
