Abū Mūsā Al-Anṣārī raḍhiyallāhu ’anhu said: “The Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) used to gently pat our shoulders (to make sure the row were straight) at the time of prayer, and he-would say:'Keep (the rows) straight; do not differ from one another lest your hearts would be afflicted with discord.” [Muslim] (8) Some Imāms observe Tarāwīḥ in a manner that contradicts the objective of Ṣalāh; they recite very quickly and do not pray with tranquility. Their main concern is to finish in the shortest time possible. (9) Although there are different methods of offering Tarāwīḥ, it's advisable to stick to the most common method practiced by the Prophet ﷺ, i.e. Praying a total of 11 units, consisting of five 2 unit prayers, then concluding with one rak'ah. (10) It's also advisable for the Imām to recite in the mode of recitation (Qirā'ah) that's most common to that country. https://t.me/salafirecords/491 (11) There's no limit as to how much a person must recite in Tarāwīḥ, so recite as much of the Qur'ān as is easy for you. However, it's advisable to read a set portion in order to maintain consistency and facilitate regular timings for attendees. (12) You must not sway back and forth when reciting the Qur'ān, in and outside Ṣalāh, but especially so during Ṣalāh; because constant, repetitive movements is something which invalidates the prayer by concensus. https://youtu.be/vA4DdqRmQWg (13) The Du’ā Qunūt which the Prophet ﷺ taught Al-Ḥasan ibn ’Alī is sufficient. Al-Ḥasan raḍhiyallāhu ’anhu said: “The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ taught me some words to say in the witr Qunūt: ((اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ، وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ، وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ، إِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلاَ يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ، وَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ، وَلاَ يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ، تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ)) “O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, grant me security among those You have granted security, take me into Your charge among those You have taken into Your charge, bless me in what You have given, guard me from the evil of what You have decreed, for You dost decree, and nothing is decreed for You. He whom You befriendest is not humbled. Blessed and Exalted are You, our Lord.” [Abū Dāwūd - graded 'Ṣaḥīḥ' by Sheikh Muqbil in Al-Jāmi’ Aṣ'Ṣaḥīḥ] Al-’Izz ibn Abdis-Salām raḥimahullāh said: “It's not befitting to add or decrease anything from the Prophet's Qunūt ﷺ.” [Fatāwā Al-’Izz] (14) If you insist on adding onto the Prophetic Qunūt, then make sure not to make it too long, and that you choose du’ās that are appropriate. Some of the scholars have said that adding irrelevant information into the du'a may invalidate the prayer - because this is unnecessary speech. For example: O Allāh, grant us houses in Jannah whose windows are made of gold and whose handles are made of diamond...etc. Ask Allāh for Jannatul Firdaws and that's sufficient. (15) when supplicating in Qunūt, use plural forms to include everyone in the du’a, rather than just supplicating for yourself. For example: اللهم اهدنا فيمن هديت 'O Allāh guide US among those You have guided.' Instead of: اللهم اهدني فيمن هديت 'O Allah guide ME among those You have guided.'
