POINT 11:
أن يَشهد أنَّ الصبرَ نِصفُ الإيمان، فلا يبدِّل من إيمانه جَزاءً في نُصْرةِ نفسِه؛ فإذا صَبَر فقد أَحْرزَ إيمانَه وصانَه من النقص، والله يدفع عن الذين آمنوا.
To testify that patience is half of Ēmān, so he should not exchange a portion of his Ēmān for vengeance. But if he remains patient, he safeguards his Ēmān and protects it from deficiency, and Allāh defends the people of Ēmān.
POINT 12:
أن يشهد أنَّ صبرَه حُكْمٌ منه على نفسِه، وقَهرٌ لها وغَلَبةٌ لها، فمتَى كانتِ النفسُ مقهورةً معَه مغلوبةً لم تطمعْ في استرقاقِه وأَسْرِه وإلقائِه في المهالك، ومتى كان مُطيعًا لها سامعًا منها مقهورًا معها لم تزَلْ به حتَّى تُهلِكَه أو تتداركَه رحمةٌ من ربِّه.
To testify that by exercising patience he is taking control of, subjugating and subduing his soul, and whenever the soul is subjugated and subdued, it will have no hope of enslaving and taking him captive and casting him into destruction. But if he obeys and listens to it, subjugating himself before it, it will be on his case till it destroys him - unless Allah has Mercy on him.
POINT 13:
أن يعلم أنَّه إنْ صبرَ فاللهُ ناصرُه ولابُدَّ، فاللهُ وكيلُ من صَبر وأحالَ ظالمَه على الله، ومن انتصَر لنفسِه وكلَهُ اللهُ إلى نفسِه، فكان هو الناصر لها؛ فأينَ مَن ناصرُه اللهُ خيرُ الناصرين إلى مَن ناصِرُه نفسُه أعجز الناصرين وأضعفُه؟
To know that if he remains patient, Allāh will surely aid him; because Allah is the protector of those who are patient and refer their oppressors to Him. But whoever seeks to avenge for himself, Allah will leave him to himself for him to avenge himself; so how great a difference there is between the one who is supported by Allah; the best of helpers, compared to the one who supports himself, the most powerless and weakest of supporters.
POINT 14:
أنَّ صَبْرَه على منْ آذاه واحتمالَه له يُوجِبُ رجوعَ خَصْمِه عن ظُلمِه، ونَدامتَه واعتذارَه، ولومَ الناسِ له، فيعودُ بعد إيذائِه له مستحييًا منه نادمًا على ما فعلَه، بل يَصيرُ مواليًا له.
His patience and perseverance towards those who harm him will cause them to give-up from their injustice, feel regret and apologise, draw blame from people, so he returns after harming him, ashamed of him, regretting what he did, but rather he becomes loyal to him.
POINT 15:
ربّما كان انتقامُه ومقابلتُه سببًا لزيادة شرِّ خصمِه وقوّةِ نفسِه وفكرته في أنواع الأذى التي يُوصِلُها إليه...كما هو المشاهَد. فإذا صبر وعفا أَمِنَ من هذا الضرر، وكم قد ذهبتْ نفوس ورِئاسَات وأموال لَو عفا المظلومُ لبقيتْ عليه.
Perhaps his taking revenge and retaliating will cause his opponent to increase in evil, grow in confidence and come up with more ways to harm him ... as is (commonly) witnessed. But if he is patient and pardons he will be safe from this harm; for how many souls, leaderships and wealth were lost, if the one oppressed had pardoned, it would have still remained with him.
