The previous benefit was posted to raise awareness of a slander, and there are many awful slanders like it, that are being spread concerning Sheikh Yahya hafidahullah. It's very unfortunate, but nothing new! This particular slander stems from a clip that was cut out of context in order to portray Sheikh Yahya as an arrogant individual who loves to praise himself. And to make matters worse, the person behind this recent video includes clips from other scholars to further demonstrate the "arrogance of the haddadi Yahya Al-Hajoori" as he put it. In other words, look at the humility of these true scholars in comparison to this individual who loves to be praised. In the clip Sheikh Yahya says: ((أنا طالب علم وأعتبر نفسي عالما)) “I am a student of knowledge, and I consider myself to be a person of knowledge.” Undoubtedly, this clip was cut out from a longer clip. If we go back to the actual clip to check what he says prior to this statement, it would help give some context. He says hafidahullah: يريدون أن أصير عبارة عن خروف، بعد فلان وفلان، أنا ماني خروف، أنا طالب علم وأعتبر نفسي عالما. “They want me to be like a sheep, following this one and that one. I'm not a sheep. I am a student of knowledge, and I consider myself to be a person of knowledge.” So his statement came in response to those who sought to discredit him. He is addressing those who want to corner him into blindfollowing Sheikh Rabee' and Co. He refuses to do so, and instead, he opts to utilise the knowledge Allah has given him -and no one can deny that he has been given knowledge- to deduce rulings and worship Allah upon insight. This -after careful consideration- is what any fair minded person would make of this statement. Furthermore, anyone who knows Sheikh Yahya well would agree that in normal circumstances he would never praise himself in this manner, and to demonstrate this, look at the following examples: 1⃣. After hearing one of his students praising him, Sheikh Yahya hafidahullaāh says: “May Allāh reward you with good, and may He pardon me and you...I swear by Allah! We (referring to himself) are less than that. We are students of knowledge. We ask Allah to pardon us and overlook (our faults). By Allah! We acknowledge our weakness and helplessness before Allah the Almighty. We ask Allah to accept our repentance. We are negligent and sinful. And our brothers think highly of us, but we are less than that. We are nowhere near that. We are students of knowledge; weak & needy. We ask Allah The Almighty to overlook and pardon our brothers. We seek Allah's assistance. May Allāh reward you all. 2⃣. On another occasion he said hafidahullah: “I have a request for my brothers which I hope they will fulfill, and -inshallah- I have good thoughts of them. That is, we must not allow our love for one another to lead us to exaggeration. May Allāh reward you all with good. By Allah I hate such exaggeration from my heart. Similarly -may Allah bless you all- we are not worth anything in comparison to Ibnul Qaṭṭān and the likes of these Imams, who in reality are the bearers of this Deen. We are nothing but dependants of theirs; pupils who study their books, their explanations, statements and narrations. We ask Allah to have mercy on them and allow us to tread their path; upon the Qur'ān and Prophetic Sunnah ﷺ. This is my request O my brothers, may Allāh bless you all. I am your brother for Allah's sake. This is the case, may Allāh bless you all. The believers are brothers... 3⃣. He also said hafidahullah: والله ما أفرح بالمدح والإطراء لا من قبل ولا من بعد، والله شاهد ومطلع على القلوب. “I swear by Allah! I am not happy with praise and flattery, neither before nor after, and Allah is a witness and well aware of what is in the hearts.” To conclude: I ask Allah to guide these individuals who busy themselves with spreading such slanders. I remind you -O reader- to be careful of such individuals, just as I remind you with the following two hadeeths: 1⃣. The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said:
