The saying of Shu'aib peace be upon him:

{سَتَجِدُنِي إنْ شاءَ اللَّهُ مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ}
“You will find me, if Allah wills, from among the righteous.”
[Al-Qaṣaṣ 27]
The statement of Uthman radhiyallahu anhu when his attackers besieged his home, he reminded them saying:
ألستم تعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: (مَنْ جَهّزَ جَيْشَ العُسْرَةِ فَلَهُ الجَنَّةُ) فجهّزتهم؟ ألستم تعلمون أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: (مَنْ حَفَرَ بِئرَ رُومَة فَلَهُ الجَنَّةُ) فحفرتها؟
Are you not aware that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever prepared the Army of Al-'Usrah will enter Jannah,” so I was the one who prepared this army? Are you not aware that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Whoever digs the well of Rūmah will enter Jannah,” so it was me who dug it?

The statement of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas radhiyallahu anhu when the people of Kūfah complained about him to Umar Ibnul Khattab radhiyallahu anhu. One of their complaints was their claim, he doesn't know how to pray properly.
So Sa'd raḍhiyallāhu 'anhu responded:
والله إنّي لأول رجل من العرب رمى بسهم في سبيل الله تعالى.
“I swear by Allah, I am the first man from the Arabs to have shot an arrow in the Allah's Cause.”

The statement of Ali radhiyallahu anhu:
والذي فلق الحبَّة وبرأَ النسمةَ، إنه لعهدُ النبيّ ﷺ إليّ :أنه لا يحبني إلا مؤمنٌ، ولا يبغضني إلا منافق.
“None loves me except the believer, and none hated me except the hypocrite.”
[Reported by Muslim]
After mentioning these examples, An-Nawawi concludes:
ونظائر هذا كثيرة لا تنحصر، وكلُّها محمولة على ما ذكرنا.
“And the likes of such are numerous and limitless, and they are all to be understood in the manner we mentioned.”
