What does the author mean when he says, 'I refer its responsibility back to those who transmitted them'? He means, I refer the accuracy and authenticity of these reports [pertaining to the divine Names and Attributes] back to those who transmitted them Q3. What does the author mean when he says, 'and I gaurd them from all that is falsely imagined'? He means, I affirm the Names and Attributes of Allāh in line with their apparent meanings, without imagining or trying to visualise how they are, and without likening them to the creation. Q4. What is التَّخَيُّل? It is to imagine something. Q5. What is Tamthīl? Generally speaking, it is to liken one thing to another, and in the subject of names and attributes it refers to likening Allāh's Attributes to that of the creation. We seek refuge with Allāh from this blasphemous ideology. Q6. Do the Attributes of Allāh have a kayfiyyah (howness)?
