Follow up advice:
If a masjid is small; so small that it has to turn back male attendees during some of the congregational prayers, the advice would be to allow brothers to make use of the sister's side during peak times. If it's wajib for men to offer congregational prayers in the masjid and better for women to offer their prayers at home, surely priority should be given to men when there's not enough space. Furthermore, if the sisters attending the masjid do so without adhering to correct Islamic teachings; namely uncovering their faces, the case to allocate the sister's side to the brothers becomes stronger. If men with two wives are put to trial by this wanton display, what of the young, roasting shabaab who attend lessons and hear these sisters chatting, giggling and sometimes even laughing out loud? The Prophet ﷺ spoke the truth when he said: ((مَا تَرَكْتُ بَعْدِي فِتْنَةً أَضَرَّ عَلَى الرِّجَالِ من النِّسَاء)) “I have not left behind me a Fitnah more harmful to men than women.” [Bukhari and Muslim] During the Prophet's time ﷺ men had to secure a meeting with the guardians just to see a sister's face, but in our time unfortunately many sisters reveal their faces for all to see والله المستعان. See link: https://youtu.be/ZshCEYNB1OU So are you trying to prevent sisters from attending the masjid? Not at all! What I'm saying is: 1⃣ - Due to the small capacity, male attendees should be given priority during peak times, i.e. Jumu'ah, Taraaweeh and any obligatory prayer where the masjid is in full use. 2⃣ - Sisters who do attend must avoid making a wanton display of their adornments, otherwise they should be made to stay at home. Our mother 'Aishah radhiyallahu anha said: (لو أدرك رسول الله ﷺ ما أحدث النساء لمنعهن كما منعت نساء بني إسرائيل). “If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had lived to see how women have started to behave, he would have prevented them [from going to the masjid] as the women of the Children of Israel were prevented.” [Reported by Bukhari (831) & Muslim (445)] If those were 'Aishah radhiyallahu anha's words during the best era of this Ummah, what do you think she would say about this era of ours? Where are the women like Umm Humaid radhiyallahu 'anhaa? Who upon hearing the words of the Prophet ﷺ issued orders that a prayer-place be prepared for her in the furthest and darkest part of her home, and she would pray there until she passed away.
