Here are some practical alternatives:
1. Work and save enough money for plane tickets and a couple of months' expenses...then look for suitable work upon arrival. You'll have to be content with minimum wage to start with and then work your way up.
If thousands of migrants are willing to risk their lives chasing the American/European dream even though it comes with no guarantees, why can't we trust Allah's Promise?
{وَمَن یُهَاجِرۡ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ یَجِدۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُرَ ٰغَمࣰا كَثِیرࣰا وَسَعَةࣰۚ}
“Whoever migrates in Allah's cause WILL FIND MANY SAFE HAVENS AND BOUNTIFUL RESOURCES throughout the earth.”
[Surah An-Nisâ': 100]
I know several brothers who implemented the above, and alhamdulillah everything worked out.
2. Attain a degree in a non mixed university or via long distance learning. New student visas have opened up in Saudi, so you might want to look into that.
3. Consider alternative qualifications to degrees, such as accredited IT qualifications, CELTA (ones which have no free-mixing). With IT in particular you can get certified through long distance learning and there's numerous opportunities to do remote work, as my sources tell me.
4. If you have some capital consider:
- investing in real estate
- starting a business
These are two avenues to secure citizenship in some Muslim countries
5. Network with fellow Muslims abroad
6. Learn a craft; tiling, carpentry, plumbing, sewing, bakery, etc.
7. Marry a rich divorcee. A brother told me there's plenty of divorced woman from GCC countries who seek marriage abroad because society makes it difficult for them to re-marry in their home countries.
8. Learn to do some Halaal hustling
Narrated Anas ibn Malik radhiyallahu 'anhu:
'Abdur-Rahman ibn 'Auf came (from Mecca to Medina) and the Prophet (ﷺ) made a bond of brotherhood between him and Sa'd ibn Ar-Rabi' Al-Ansari. (Sa'd) Al-Ansari had two wives, so he suggested that 'Abdur- Rahman take half, his wives and property. 'Abdur-Rahman replied, “May Allah bless you with your wives and property. Direct me to the market.” So 'Abdur-Rahman went to the market and gained (in bargains) some dried yoghurt and some butter...[Bukhari]
9. Freelancing on Fiver and other such platforms
10. Taqwa-llaah [Performing righteous deeds and abstaining from evil deeds]
{وَمَن یَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ یَجۡعَل لَّهُۥ مَخۡرَجࣰا * وَیَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ لَا یَحۡتَسِبُۚ }
“Whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty) * And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.”
[Surah At-Talâq: 2-3]

I'm not a career advisor and these are just some suggestions I put together, so I'm sure there are other alternatives that weren't mentioned.
