So what other options are there? Yes, we have to take the necessary means to attain provision, however the means are categorised into two types: a: Halaal means -> these are permissible! b Haraam means -> these are impermissible! The Prophet ﷺ said: ((فاتقوا الله ، وأجملوا في الطلب ، ولا يحملن أحدكم استبطاء الرزق أن يطلبه بمعصية الله ، فإن الله تعالى لا ينال ما عنده إلا بطاعته)) “Fear Allah and seek provision in a beautiful manner, and none of you should be tempted to seek provision by means of committing sin if it is slow in coming to him, for that which is with Allah can only be attained by obeying Him.” [Narrated by Abu Nu’aim in Al-Hilyah from the hadeeth of Abu Umaamah; graded 'Saheeh' by Sheikh Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 2085.] In this hadeeth, our Prophet ﷺ clearly prohibits seeking provision through impermissible means. Therefore we have to seek rizq through Halaal means and ignore the whispers of the devils of Jinn and mankind.
