A die hard boxing fan (may Allah guide him) was asked if he was travelling out to Saudi to watch the next heavyweight boxing fight? He replied: I would be a Munafiq (hypocrite) for travelling to Saudi to watch a boxing fight when I haven't even travelled there to perform Hajj! ___ OBSERVATION: Saudi is not like what it was 10 years ago, let alone 100 years ago. And this is no coincidence, for indeed the Prophet ﷺ said: ((لا يأتي زمان إلا والذي بعده شر منه)) “There is not a time except that which comes after it is worse.” [Bukhari] We cannot deny the fact that Saudi is imperfect and has numerous discrepancies. Likewise, the current Westernisation of the country is something which pains every zealous Muslim. However, let us not forget that Saudi is still one of the best Muslim countries in the world. From the virtues of Saudi: 1. It is a land established upon Tawheed. - it promotes the correct creed throughout its educational system - it funds many da'wah initiatives in and outside the Kingdom - there are no graves/shrines that are worshipped besides Allah 2. Their court system is governed by Sharee'ah law 3. They are very dedicated to serving the two Holy sites and its visitors So rather than harbouring hatred towards our fellow Muslims, let us make du'a for them that Allah rectifies their affairs and grants them wellbeing and prosperity.
