DHUL HIJJAH | BENEFIT (1):

Abu Bakr Ibnul 'Arabi Al-Maliki rahimahullah said: (ليس في فضل الأضحية حديث صحيح، وقد روى الناس فيها عجائب لم تصح) “There is no authentic Hadith on the virtue of Udh-hiyah, and people have relayed astonishing reports concerning it which are inauthentic.” ['Aridhatul Ahwadhi Bi Sharh At-Tirmidhi (6/ 288)] Sheikh Ibn Baz rahimahullah was asked about the above statement, to which he responded: ما أذكر شيئًا صحيحًا فيها، مثل ما قال، إنما هي من فعل النبي ﷺ وأمره، وليس فيها "فله كذا وكذا.. أجر على عدد الشعر" هذا حديث ضعيف. “I am not aware of anything authentic regarding it, just as he stated. It is however from the practice and command of the Prophet ﷺ, but there is no (such thing as) “He will have such-and-such…reward for the number of hairs,” this is a weak Hadith.” [From his Bulughul Maram classes - The book of Foods] ____ Here are 5 common examples of such weak Hadiths: HADITH 1⃣: ((إن الله يعتق بكل عضو من الضحية عضوا من المضحي)) “Allah sets free (from Hellfire) the limbs of the one who offers a sacrifice equivalent to that of the Sacrificial animal.” [This Hadith has no basis, as mentioned by Ibn Hajar in Talkhees Al-Habeer (4/ 252) & Ibn Mulaqqin in Khulasatul Badril Muneer (2/ 386)] HADITH 2⃣: ((ما أنفقت الورق في شيء أفضل من نحيرة في يوم العيد)) “Silver is not spent in anything better than (purchasing) a Sacrificial animal on the day of 'Eid.” [This Hadith is very weak, as mentioned by Sheikh Albani in Silsilah Al-Hadeeth Adh-Dha'eefah (Hadith No. 524)] HADITH 3⃣: ((يا رسول الله ﷺ ما هذه الأضاحي؟ قال سنة أبيكم إبراهيم قالوا فما لنا فيها يا رسول الله؟ قال بكل شعرة حسنة)) “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, what are these sacrifices? He said, “It is the Sunnah of your father Ibrahim.” They asked, “What is in it for us, O Messenger of Allah?” He said, “For every strand of hair you will receive a good deed.” [This Hadith is fabricated, as mentioned by Sheikh Albani in Silsilah Al-Hadeeth Adh-Dha'eefah (Hadith No. 527)] HADITH 4⃣: ((من ضحى طيبة بها نفسه محتسبا لإضحيته كانت له حجابا من النار)) “Whoever slaughters willingly seeking reward for his sacrifice, it will be a veil for him from the HellFire.” [This Hadith is fabricated, as mentioned by Sheikh Albani in Silsilah Al-Hadeeth Adh-Dha'eefah (Hadith No. 529)] HADITH 5⃣: ((عظموا ضحاياكم فإنها على الصراط مطاياكم)) “Magnify your Udh-hiyah, for they will be your mount/ride across the Sirat.” [This Hadith is very weak, as mentioned by Sheikh Albani in Silsilah Al-Hadeeth Adh-Dha'eefah (1/ 173)] ----------------------------------------- For more benefits like this, 📝 JOIN t.me/madrasatuna
