IF A LETTER HAS A SHADDAH, there are two ways of representing the Kasrah (ِ )!
The first, and this is the most common, is by placing the Kasrah under the letter.
The second, and this is what we hope to clarify here, is by placing the Kasrah on top of the letter BUT JUST BELOW THE SHADDAH ( ّ ). So, if you ever find a horizontal line written under the Shaddah, this is actually a Kasrah - not a fat-ḥah, so be careful!
If you've understood the above, see if you can read the following words:
Still confused?
Is it a Fat-ḥah...is it a Kasrah?
Let's try a different way:
1⃣ - If the horizontal line is ABOVE the Shaddah, then it's a Fat-ha = (بَّ)
2⃣ - And if the horizontal line is UNDER the Shaddah, then it's a Kasrah = (بِّ).
I hope that makes it easier.
