The reason for raising this discussion is to remind my fellow Muslims about the severity of begging/requesting donations, which unfortunately we see many Muslim

Let's not conflate between donating to poor students of knowledge directly and making public appeals for financial help without any there being any Dharoorah: ‘Umar ibnul Khattab radhiyallahu anhu said: Allah's Messenger ﷺ would give me something but I would say to him, “I prefer you give it to someone poorer and more needy than l?” The Prophet ﷺ said to me, “Take it. If you are given something from this wealth, without asking for it or having greed for it then take it; and if not given, do not chase after it.” [Bukhari & Muslim] It's very unfortunate to see du'aat requesting donations without there being any dharoorah, and it's even more unfortunate that when they are advised they lay the blame on the daw'ah - it's not for me, it's for da'wah purposes. And once the gates are opened, they continue from one donation plea to another, all in the name of da'wah. So it should come as no surprise to see people requesting donations to establish recording studios - for da'wah purposes of course!? But the reality of the matter as we have seen from the hadeeth of Qabeesah is that -without there being a dharoorah- requesting donations is haraam. So ask yourself this, does a recording studio fall into the category of dharoorah? Also, is it not possible to give da'wah without a recording studio? Whatever happened to the actual centres of knowledge; the houses of Allah? You can't really film a blockbuster "da'wah" movie in the masjid can you? Is this why we need a da'wah studio? To kick-start acting careers in the name of da'wah? Sheikh Rabee' hafidhahullah said: “I advise the scholars and the students of knowledge to return towards the biographies of the nobility of the salaf, and let them be aware that eagerness to seek money is from the most dangerous of dangers upon the Da’wah Salafiyyah.” After seeing the ease at which money can be amassed through donations, the next step is to set up a charity organisation. Refer to Sheikh Rabee's book “Jamaa’atun waahidah laa Jama’aat…” a book which contains statements indicating the impermissibility of Charity Organizations. This book was praised by the likes of Shaykh Saalih as-Suhaymee , Shaykh Ahmad an-Najmee, Shaykh Ali Naasir al-Faqeeh and Shaykh Zayd al-Madkhali. Furthermore, there are others who set up gofundme accounts seeking charity, although the objective behind these accounts is very questionable. They go on to place calculated targets; we need to raise x amount for x cause, however every time the target is met, the amount is increased to an even higher figure; one particular case started at £22k, then after meeting the target the figure was raised to £25k, then £30k, then £35k and running.
