3rd exception:

Sheikh 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah says: لا يجوز للإنسان أن يلبس شيئاً فيه صورة، سواء أكان ثوباً، أم سروالاً، أم غطرة، أم طاقية، أم فانلة، أم غير ذلك “It is not permissible for a person to wear anything which has an image, be it a thawb, trouser, headscarf, cap, vest, or anything else.” Do you think Sheikh 'Uthaymeen would allow people to wear brands like Puma and AirJordans without defacing the heads of these images? 4th exception: Sheikh 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah says: تعليق الصور على الجدران ولاسيما الكبيرة منها حرام، حتى وإن لم يخرج إلا بعض الجسم والرأس “Hanging pictures on walls, especially large ones, IS FORBIDDEN, even if only part of the body and head is visible...” You find some of those who adopt Sheikh Uthaymeen's stance incorporating images onto almost everything they can find, from class posters to even prayer timetables. In most cases these posters & timetables are hang up on noticeboards inside the masaajid for everyone to see. Where are they from Sheikh 'Uthaymeen's stance? 5th exception: Sheikh 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah says it is not appropriate to record lectures in the masaajid: قيل هل يجوز أن تصوَّر المحاضرات التي تلقى في المساجد؟ فكان الرأي ترك ذلك ، لأنه ربما يشوش على المصلين وربما يكون المنظر غير لائق وما أشبه ذلك “It was said: Is it permissible to record lectures delivered in the masaajid? And the opinion given was to LEAVE THAT OFF, because it might disturb the worshipers, and the setting may be inappropriate, etc.” 6th exception: Sheikh 'Uthaymeen rahimahullah says that it is better to avoid taking pictures altogether unless there is a need: ومع هذا مع قولنا بالجواز أو مع ترجيحنا للجواز نرى أن اللائق للمسلم أن يبتعد عنه؛ لأن ذلك أتقى وأورع لما في ذلك من الشبهة، فإن بعض أهل العلم يرون أن التصوير حتى للصور الشمسية أو الفوتوغرافية حرام، وترك الإنسان لما هو محرم هذا أمرٌ ينبغي إلا إذا دعت الحاجة إليه... “With that said, despite our saying that it is permissible...we still believe that IT IS MORE APPROPRIATE FOR A MUSLIM TO STAY AWAY FROM IT; because that is more pious and more cautious, due to the doubts involved, and seeing as some of the people of knowledge are of the opinion that taking pictures -even by means of photography- is forbidden, and a person is to avoid that which is forbidden, unless there is a need for that.” May Allah have mercy on Sheikh 'Uthaymeen and unite us in Al-Firdaws.
