Where's everyone gone?

A revert's story
The best Ramadhan I ever had was when I first embraced Islam 13 years ago. I accepted Islam the night before Ramadhan and on the following day I began fasting. Although that was my first Ramadhan, fasting was pretty easy Alhmadu lillaah. The brothers were very friendly, loving and welcoming. I would get invited for Iftaar at a different house almost every day. Sometimes brothers would even fight (not literally) over who would host me that night. The masaajid were packed every single Salah. The Muslims were so enthusiastic and passionate about their religion. I hadn't seen anything like it. This was definitely the real deal. After Ramadhan came to an end, I attended the masjid as usual; 5 minutes to the start of Salah. I found the masjid almost empty so I thought to myself, maybe I'm early today. I glanced at the prayer timetable to confirm, and yes - only 5 minutes remained. I wasn't satisfied, so I asked one of the uncles, “how long left till Salah?”. “5 minutes left,” he confirmed. I looked at him in surprise, “Where's everyone gone? Where's all the crowds that were here during Ramadhan?” He said, “That was Ramadhan brother.”
