Practical ways to avoid food wastage:

1⃣- Store food correctly. Use foil wraps, clingfilm, food containers, etc. If there's no space in the fridge/freezer, then ⤵️ 2⃣- Get creative with what you already have instead of leaving your fridge/freezer space-less with more stock 3⃣- Plan your meals well. Consider how many people you're cooking for and measure your ingredients accordingly 4⃣- The 'Best before date' is an indication of quality rather than safety. It's perfectly fine to eat this! However, the 'Use by date' indicates when a product may no longer be safe to eat. You should not eat, cook, or freeze it after the date displayed. 5⃣- Avoid serving too much. If the plate comes back almost as full as when served, you only have yourself to blame. It's not a matter of the food not being delicious, it's just that when a person breaks their fast, they only take a few bites before they end up full 6⃣- Share extra food with others; family, friends, neighbours (including Non-Muslims for Da'wah purposes), masjid 7⃣- Repurpose food. If it's still edible, you can save yourself the time and effort of having to prepare another iftar/sahoor, and if it's not edible, consider feeding the animals around you 8⃣- Some masaajid may offer you a free water bottle. If you decide to take it, know that you will be responsible for finishing & desposing of it appropriately. Don't repay back the masjid's generosity by loitering it with your half empty water bottles.
