“I do not forbid the English language. I wish I knew English so I could invite those who do not know Arabic through this language. And I told you a little while ago: It may be a communal obligation to learn it, or even an individual obligation, but I say: the munkar which we condemn is that we teach our young children - five ... six year olds, we teach them English and they don't even know Arabic; this is what we condemn.”
