Hindus claim their religion comes from four books or Vedas, written down 5,000 years ago by an incarnation of one of their gods, called Vyasadeva. They have not one iota of proof for this and even if it were remotely possible that such books were written, all they are is a jumbled collection of fables, mythology and mindless philosophical conjectures and theories that ramble on without evidence or proof.
While most Hindus worship idols, some follow meditational practices like Buddhists in order to obtain moksha or liberation from this material world. Sitting cross legged with back straight, eyes closed for hour after hour...they seek to close off their minds and desires and become "one" with everything around them or merge into what they call a bright light up in the heavens, where they will exist as a mindless molecule. Others teach that no one needs a guru or statues to worship but can become "self realized". A founder of one such movement was a man called Krishnmurti. He taught that you don't need teachers and can be your own guide. However to accomplish this you first of all had to study from him, buy his books, follow what he was teaching etc. And in case you forget that you don't need teachers, you can take refresher courses in one of his institutions, paying money again to learn you don't need to be taught!! The mind boggles at such ridiculousness that people fall for.
Probably the most evil and viscous of Hindu sects operating in Western and in Russia, the Far East, China, Japan and other lands is ISKCON, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness or Krishna conning. Started by an Indian who sailed to America in the mid 1960's, he soon attracted young men and women from the "hippy culture" then taking off in the States. Having been taking drugs like marijuana, hashish, LSD (a very dangerous hallucinogenic), these youngsters quickly fell for all the fantastic fables this man, Abhay Charan De (Bhaktivedanta Swami) brought and his use of incessant chanting of mantras (names of their gods, accompanied by music, songs, drumbeats, cymbals, clapping, dancing etc.) At this time some Jews entered with him and quickly spread what he was teaching in America, Canada, Britain, Europe etc. One of his mottos was "The end justifies the means." Used also by the Jew Karl Marx, to spread communism in its early days. His teaching was that everything in this world belongs to their god, Krishna and that they had to get it back for him, "by hook or by crook". Another statement he is known for is "Distribute my books, by hook or crook." He unleashed a collection of Hindu literature, translated by him into English and pressed and incited his students into selling them anywhere they could and by any means. Drug dealing, selling their own children for prostitution, stealing, lying, cheating, it was all fair and permissible for them. They can operate under different names and disguise themselves in the ordinary clothing of non Hindus or dress as Buddhists if they are working in Buddhist lands. They use all kinds of scams and gimmicks and trickery to fleece money off others who they call "karmees" material people. Their wealth is permissible for them, because they are not Vaishnavas (a name they use to differentiate themselves from ordinary Hindus who they consider inferior to them and will also exploit them to suit their own needs). (The Jews use this same methology to increase their wealth. Every non Jew is called a "goy" an inferior creature who can be exploited as they please.) Abhay Charan De alias Bhaktivedanta Swam demanded absolute worship of himself and had his disciples bowing and lying out prostrate on the floor or ground in front of him. He finally died after a long illness in the early 1970's. Some of his students say he was poisoned off by those who wanted to gain control of his organisation.
