BENEFIT 88: Affairs which prevent a person from attaining Shafaa'ah
1⃣. Kufr & Shirk
Allah will never forgive a person if he dies in a state of Shirk:
{ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَغۡفِرُ أَن یُشۡرَكَ بِهِۦ وَیَغۡفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَ ٰلِكَ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُۚ...}
"Indeed, Allah does not forgive associating others with Him ˹in worship˺, but forgives anything else for whoever He wills."
[Surah An-Nisâ': 48]
So if Allah will not forgive them, the Shafaa'ah is of no use.
Similarly, Allah says regarding the disbelievers:
{ فَمَا تَنفَعُهُمۡ شَفَـٰعَةُ ٱلشَّـٰفِعِینَ }
"So the pleas of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them"
[Surah Al-Muddaththir: 48]
2⃣. Rejecting Ash-Shafaa'ah
On the authority of Anas radhiyahu anhu, who said:
((من كذّب بالشفاعة فليس له فيها نصيب))
"Whoever rejects Ash-Shafaa'ah will have no share in it."
[Reported by Al-Aajurri in Ash-Sharee'ah]
This Athar takes the same ruling as a hadeeth attributed to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.
