4- you should touch the Yemeni corner with your hand each time you go round, without kissing. 5- the closer you are to the Ka'bah the better, but Tawaaf can be done anywhere within the masjid. * After you have completed the Tawaaf, you should look for a suitable space behind Maqaam Ibrahim to perform 2 voluntary units. When you are walking to this space you should recite the Āyah: {وَٱتَّخِذُوا۟ مِن مَّقَامِ إِبۡرَ ٰهِـۧمَ مُصَلࣰّىۖ} "And take you the Maqam (place) of Ibrahim [the stone on which Ibrahim stood while he was building the Ka'bah] as a place of prayer." [Surat Al-Baqarah 125] * during this prayer you should recite Suratul kafirun in the 1st and Suratul Ikhlas in the 2nd rak'ah. * if you don't find space directly behind Maqaam Ibrahim, you can pray anywhere within the masjid. __ STEP THREE - PERFORM SA'EE (this is the 3rd pillar of 'Umrah) * Sa'ee is to pass between the two Mounts of Safa and Marwa 7 times, starting from Safa and ending at Marwa. Sunans related to the Sa'ee: 1- When you approach the Mas'aa (location of Sa'ee) recite the following Āyah: {إِنَّ ٱلصَّفَا وَٱلۡمَرۡوَةَ مِن شَعَاۤىِٕرِ ٱللَّهِۖ فَمَنۡ حَجَّ ٱلۡبَیۡتَ أَوِ ٱعۡتَمَرَ فَلَا جُنَاحَ عَلَیۡهِ أَن یَطَّوَّفَ بِهِمَاۚ وَمَن تَطَوَّعَ خَیۡرࣰا فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ شَاكِرٌ عَلِیمٌ} "Indeed, ˹the Mounts of˺ Ṣafa and Marwah are among the symbols of Allah. So whoever performs the pilgrimage or minor pilgrimage, let them walk between ˹the two hills˺. And whoever does good willingly, Allah is truly Appreciative, All-Knowing." [Surat Al-Baqarah 158] 2- After ascending Safaa say: ((أَبْدَأُ بِمَا بَدَأَ اللهُ بُهِ)) "I begin with what Allah began with" (I.e. Allah mentioned Safaa before Marwa, which is we begin Sa'ee at Safaa) 3- once you have ascended the top of Safaa, face the qibla, raise your hands and say: ((لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ، اللهُ أَكْبَرُ)) "There is none worthy of worship except Allaah, Allaah is the greatest." Then say: ((لَا إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ أَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَنَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَهَزَمَ الأَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ)) "There is none worthy of worship except Allaah alone, His is the Sovereignty. to Him praise is due. and He is Powerful over everything. There is none worthy of worship except Allaah alone, Who alone has fulfilled His promise, helped His servant and defeated the confederates." Then make du'aa. You should repeat this step 3 times at each Mount (i.e. 3 x 7 = 21 in total) 4. When you get to the middle (between the 2 green lights) you should jog fast; this is specific to Men. * you should busy yourself with adhkaar, du'aa and recitation throughout your Tawaaf and Sa'ee, although you may speak to others if there's a need. ___ FOURTH & FINAL STEP TRIM/SHAVE THE HEAD [this is an obligatory (waajib) act] - you are allowed to trim or shave your head, although shaving is better. - Women are only required to trim the tips of the hair. After this step, you automatically become HALAAL; i.e., you exit the state of Ihraam and the 10 prohibitions which were haraam while in the state of Ihraam now become Halaal. May Allah accept your Umrah. _ Benefited from: At-Tabsirah Al-Mukhtasarah Fi Ahkaamil Hajj wal Umrah by Sheikh Abu Musa Abdullah Hableel Summarised & translated by: Abu Ishaq Muhammad Ibn Ahmad Ba Alawi
