BENEFIT 68: THE BEST CREATION
Sheikh Albāni raḥimahullāh said:
((والإنسان كما نعلم جميعا مفضل على المخلوقات كلها، {وَلَقَدۡ كَرَّمۡنَا بَنِیۤ ءَادَمَ وَحَمَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ وَرَزَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّیِّبَـٰتِ وَفَضَّلۡنَـٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ كَثِیرࣲ مِّمَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَا تَفۡضِیلࣰا}
“Mankind, as we all know, is favoured over all of creation. [Allah Almighty said, in what is translated to mean] “Indeed, We have honoured the children of Ādam, carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions, and privileged them far above many of Our creatures.” [Sūrah Al-Isrā' 70]

Mankind, the righteous believers in particular, are the best of creation; as is proven by the statement of Allāh the Almighty:
{إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمۡ خَیۡرُ ٱلۡبَرِیَّةِ}
“Indeed, those who believe and do good—they are the best of creation.”
[Sūrah Al-Bayyinah 7]
As for the disbelievers from amongst mankind, then they are the worst of creation, as Allāh the Almighty said:
{إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِنۡ أَهۡلِ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ وَٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ فِی نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَـٰلِدِینَ فِیهَاۤۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمۡ شَرُّ ٱلۡبَرِیَّةِ}
“Indeed, those who disbelieve from the People of the Book and the polytheists will be in the Fire of Hell, to stay there forever. They are the worst of creation.”
[Sūrah Al-Bayyinah 6]
And our Prophet ﷺ is the best of mankind; as Abū Hurairah radhiyallāhu 'anhu narrated, that the Prophet ﷺ said:
(أَنَا سَيِّدُ وَلَدِ آدَمَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، وَأَوَّلُ مَنْ يَنْشَقُّ عَنْهُ الْقَبْرُ ، وَأَوَّلُ شَافِعٍ ، وَأَوَّلُ مُشَفَّعٍ)
“I am the master of the children of Ādam on the Day of Judgement, the first for whom the earth will be opened the first to intercede and the first whose intercession will be accepted."

Imām An-Nawawi raḥimahullāh commented in his explanation of this hadith:
”وهذا الحديث دليل لتفضيله ﷺ على الخلق كلهم، لأن مذهب أهل السنة أن الآدميين أفضل من الملائكة ، وهو صلى الله عليه وسلم أفضل الآدميين وغيرهم.“
“This ḥadīth is proves his superiority ﷺ over the rest of creation, as the view of Ahlus-Sunnah is that humans are better than the angels, and he ﷺ is the best of the humans and other than them (from the creation).”
