BENEFIT 56: THINK BEFORE YOU BREASTFEED! The following Fatwa was transmitted by Ḥussein Al-Ḥajūrī ḥafidhahullāh (Sheikh Yaḥya's nephew) Question: A married man contracted marriage to a baby girl, so his first wife went and breastfed this baby girl who he contracted marriage to (5 times or more). What is the ruling? Answer: (Answered by Sheikh Yaḥyā ḥafidhahullāh) “In this case, they (the first wife and the baby girl he contracted marriage to) both become ḥarām upon him.” ________ Ḥussein ḥafidhahullāh commented: His wife wanted her to be his daughter through breastfeeding (thus making her ḥarām upon him), but she forgot that she would become her mother (in turn, she becomes ḥarām him; because it's not perssible to marry one's mother-in-law). ___ NOTE: This may be a hypothetical question, nonetheless it's important to note that contracting marriage to a child - although permissible - DOES NOT PERMIT INTIMACY due to the harm involved!
