BENEFIT 26: WHICH IS MORE VIRTUOUS; FASTING MONDAY OR THURSDAY? If ever you are faced with the situation of having to choose between fasting Monday or Thursday, bear the following in mind: Firstly: it is recommended to fast Mondays and Thursdays, because the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: “Deeds are presented (to Allāh) on Mondays and Thursdays, and I like my deeds to be presented while I am fasting.” [Transmitted by Tirmidhi; authenticated by Sheikh Albānī in Saheeh al-Targheeb (1041)] “On Mondays and Thursdays the gates of Jannah are opened and anyone who is has not committed Shirk will be forgiven except two who have abandoned one another, it will be said, 'Leave them both until they reconcile'".
