BENEFIT 23: YOUR DU'A WILL NOT BE REJECTED IF YOU SUPPLICATE WITH ONE OF THESE 3 SUPPLICATIONS Sheikh Wahb Adh-Dhayfani ḥafidhullah wrote: "Three great supplications that must not be neglected: THE FIRST SUPPLICATION: Narrated Anas ibn Mālik: I was sitting with the Messenger of Allāh (ﷺ) and a man was offering prayer. He then supplicated, saying: ((اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ، بَدِيعُ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ، يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ، يَا حَىُّ يَا قَيُّومُ)) Allāhumma innī as'aluka bi anna lakal ḥamd, lā ilāha illā antal-Mannān, badī'us samawāti wal ardh, yā dhal Jalāli wal ikrām, yā Ḥayyu yā Qayyūm. "O Allāh, I ask You by virtue of the fact that praise is due to You, there is no deity worthy of worship except You, Who bestows favour and beneficence, the Originator of the Heavens and the earth, O Lord of Majesty and Splendour, O Living One, O Eternal One." The Prophet (ﷺ) then said: ((لَقَدْ دَعَا اللَّهَ بِاسْمِهِ الْعَظِيمِ الَّذِي إِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ وَإِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى)) He has asked Allāh using His Greatest Name, when supplicated by this name, He answers, and when asked by this name He gives. The Prophet ﷺ said: لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَ اللَّهَ بِالاِسْمِ الَّذِي إِذَا سُئِلَ بِهِ أَعْطَى وَإِذَا دُعِيَ بِهِ أَجَابَ You have asked Allāh using His Greatest Name, when asked with this name He gives, and when supplicated by this name He answers. [Transmitted by Abū Dāwūd (1493) and others; authenticated by Sheikh Muqbil in Ṣaḥīḥ Al-Musnad] _____ THE THIRD SUPPLICATION: Narrated Sa'd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ raḍhiyallāhu 'anhu: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said: The supplication of Dhun Nūn when he was in the whale's stomach: ((لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ)) Lā ilāha illā anta subḥānaka innī kuntu minadh-dhālimīn “There is no diety worthy of worship except You to Whom be the glory. I was indeed a wrongdoer.” Then the Prophet ﷺ said: لَمْ يَدْعُ بِهَا رَجُلٌ مُسْلِمٌ فِي شَيْءٍ إلاَّ استجابَ لَهُ No Muslim asks Allāh for anything with it except that He responds to him.
