"The matter in this regard is simple. Our brother is on the right path and is a steadfast Salafi. If any issue arises, the brothers should resolve it among themselves. Abu Atiyyah Mahmoud al-Somali is a Salafi brother, may Allah bless you. Stand in solidarity with him. If something arises, let us advise one another with wisdom and love. We should ask, "What do you think? Is this beneficial?" If there is doubt, we ask, "Should we leave it or not? Which is safer for our cause?" Should he remain with us, or is there no need? This is the matter at hand, may Allah bless you. We ask Allah to protect you." [end quote]
The approach you brothers have taken seems to be based on the premise that you either accept what you send him in private or you will make it public on your channel. This is not the best method that Shaykh Abdul Ghani suggested should be adopted regarding this specific issue when it was presented to him. I mention Shaykh Abdul Ghani as an example here because you claim to represent him on this topic.
THE WRITER CONTINUES:
"... which I find amazing how he didn't know or maybe wasn't informed that the brother Shinghaani indeed contacted in private before publishing this issue..."
RESPONSE:
Who stated that my audio advice was simply for you to relay a private message to Abu Attiyah through someone else? My audio included several pieces of advice from the scholars. As you might need assistance in understanding their words and guidance, I will clarify. One of the key pieces of advice is to address the issue using various approaches rather than allowing it to escalate into a larger problem.
THE WRITER CONTINUES:
"... which again was not done by him but rather others who were not the one intended, when Abu Atiyyah is perfectly capable of replying himself as we've seen the brothers writing skills MashaaAllaah, i mean after all he is a Shaykh isn't he Yaa Aba Maryam?"
RESPONSE:
Yes, that’s correct; he possesses good writing skills and has previously responded to some of your earlier posts where you spoke unfavorably about the brothers. I believe he addressed those points well.
As for whether he is a Shaykh, let me quote what Shaykh Abdullah al-Khawlani said about brother Abu Attiyah Mahmoud:
الشيخ أبو عطية من طلاب العلم المجتهدين الذين نفع الله بهم نحسبه كذلك و الله حسيبه
"Sheikh Abu Atiyyah is one of the diligent students of knowledge through whom Allah has brought benefit. We consider him as such, and Allah is his ultimate judge." [end quote]
You may disagree with Shaykh Abdullah al-Khawlani regarding the title he has given to Shaykh Abu Attiyah Mahmoud, but I believe you would agree that you certainly do not deserve the title of Shaykh.
THE WRITER CONTINUES:
"... And I find it quite amazing that half an hour audios about not being hasty and rushing to defame ones brothers images are being made while not going through proper inquiry beforehand to see if actually advice was done in private!!! Is quite ironic."
RESPONSE:
He suggested that my entire thirty-minute audio was solely about advising against being hasty and defaming one’s brother. However, we covered a variety of topics in that thirty minutes, and even if you were to summarize the audio that way, it would still not be accurate.
Additionally, for your information, it was not Abu Attiyah Mahmoud who initially arranged the tele-link; it was the brothers at Masjid Muqbil who set it up. Abu Attiyah was simply responding to those who contacted him, asking him to intervene and stop the brothers from proceeding with the tele-link. He requested to see the observations but was not yet convinced that they were sufficient to warrant telling the brothers to halt the tele-link.
