The writer states: "8. I have not received any such statement from my esteemed teachers. With all due respect we have received such statement from some of our teachers..." Commentary: It is well known that some scholars have indicated warnings against Sheikh At-Tahiri, which I referred to at the beginning of the previous statement. It should be noted that resolving disputes in these great matters falls to the scholars and the Salafi reference points, like our Sheikh Yahya, may Allah preserve him, and those who are qualified as testified to by the people of knowledge. Sheikh (Muqbil) Al-Wadi'ee, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked: Many young people turn to students of knowledge for solutions to their problems and disputes regarding Creedal and jurisprudential matters, rather than consulting senior scholars. What is your guidance for them? He responded: "Allah, the Exalted, states (interpreted meaning): 'So ask the people of knowledge if you do not know.' He also says: 'And if a matter of security or fear comes to them, they spread it. But if they had referred it to the Messenger and to those in authority among them, they would have known it.' Therefore, in this era, issues should be referred to the scholars, for the rulers have become ignorant and do not understand the issues related to creed and the problems pertaining to Islamic jurisprudence. Thus, one should refer to eminent scholars such as Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Al-Albani, Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen, Sheikh Salih Al-Fawzan, Sheikh Rabee' ibn Hadi, and others." https://www.muqbel.net/fatwa.php The writer states: "9. The publicising and manifesting the seeking mercy for Ubaid Al-Jaabiri; who is a person of Innovation and a staunch Hizbi isn't correct, in such a public setting for no apparent reason which makes it a must. Is not correct and it is to be avoided." Commentary: Regarding the matter of supplicating for the people of innovation, perhaps the author did not reflect deeply on what the scholars have said in differentiating between supplicating for them and showing mercy to the innovator while praising them. Sheikh Abu Muhammad Az-Zu'kari has clarified this matter, may Allah increase him in knowledge. Among his statements is: "Ignorance of Allah's religion, coupled with feigning knowledge, is a cause of conflict and strife in both theoretical and practical matters. Otherwise, the Book of our Lord, the Sunnah of His Messenger ﷺ, and the consensus of the Salaf contain sufficient and clear guidance, including in this matter. Supplicating for a Muslim for mercy and forgiveness is permissible, whether he is a righteous or sinful Muslim, provided his innovation is not one that expels him from the fold of Islam. The disobedient innovators are treated as Muslims in this regard. Nonetheless, the scholars and the righteous may refrain from expressing this for fear that others may be misled by the innovator's bid'ah." He then goes on to relay some statements of the scholars in refraining from praying (Janazah) upon the people of innovation, then he says:" This detail is what we have learned from our scholars, who have established it with evidence from the Book and the authentic Sunnah. In 'Al-Kanz Ath-Thameen' of Sheikh Hay Al-Hajoori, may Allah preserve him, he states: "Among the people of innovation, there are those for whom it is absolutely forbidden to pray for mercy, and they are the ones whose innovations amount to disbelief. Allah the Exalted says (interpreted meaning): “And never offer a prayer for any of them who dies, nor stand at his grave. Indeed, they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were defiantly disobedient” [At-Tawbah: 84].
