Sheikh Salih As-Suhaimi, may Allah preserve him, said in his explanation of “Nullifiers of Islam”: “The tenth nullifier is: ‘He who does not perform any religious acts, even if he ascribes to it, is undoubtedly deemed a disbeliever by the consensus of Muslims. Therefore, whoever does not perform any righteous deeds, even if he bears witness that there is no deity worthy of worship but Allah and that Muhammad is His Messenger; his testimony is rejected. This is the consensus of the scholars that one who completely abandons action and has not performed anything, but has deviated and turned away from religion, is a Muslim by identity, but does not pray, pay zakat, fast, or perform Hajj, and does not enjoin what is good or forbid what is wrong, is merely a Muslim by birth; there is no doubt about his disbelief and his deviation from the religion. This is also the consensus of the Muslims and the consensus of the scholars of the ummah.’
And here is our Sheikh Yahya, may Allah preseve him from all evil, when he descended in the land of the Two Holy Places, he visited Sheikh Al-Barak. It is well-known what criticisms were directed at the latter regarding his association with the Muslim Brotherhood and the rumors spread about him during the events of the Egyptian revolution, and that was before our Sheikh arrived in Saudi Arabia. Nevertheless, our Sheikh Yahya sought his permission to publish his comments on “Fat-h Al-Bari,” as relayed by the nephew of Sheikh Hussein Al-Hajoori, saying:
“During the night of 30/ Rabi’ Ath-Thani/ 1435 AH, between Maghrib and Isha, Allah facilitated for us a meeting with our Sheikh Yahya, a visit to the esteemed Sheikh Abdurrahman Al-Barak, may Allah preserve everyone. It was an enjoyable meeting; may Allah reward him for his generosity in sitting and engaging in pleasant conversation, and the Sheikh cancelled his lesson between Maghrib and Isha to be with us. We then sought the Sheikh’s permission to print his comments on Fat-h Al-Bari as part of the service to the students of Dammaj towards the Fat-h, and he granted permission, may Allah reward him well. We then took leave from the Sheikh, who said that the time between Maghrib and Isha is indivisible. So we remained with him until a few minutes before Isha, may Allah reward the Sheikh abundantly for his generosity and good character. And Allah is the Protector of success.” [End of the intended quote]

Furthermore, I would like to quote from the words of the esteemed Imam of the Salafi Da'wah in Yemen during his time, Muqbil ibn Hadi, may Allah grant him a place in His vast paradise. He was asked the following question:
If a mistake or multiple mistakes are made by a scholar of Ahlus-Sunnah due to their ijtihad or misinterpretation, does that warrant disparaging them from Ahlus-Sunnah?
He, may Allah have mercy on him, responded: "A man should not be disparaged, but the erroneous statement should be clarified. The intention is not to alienate others from all of his knowledge; it is essential to acknowledge his merits and status. After that, one should be warned about his mistakes, while we believe, by Allah’s will, that he will receive a reward. A mistake might even carry a reward; it has been established in the authentic narrations that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said: 'If a judge strives to reach a conclusion and is correct, he has two rewards, and if he strives and errs, he has one reward.' Furthermore, Allah, the Exalted, states in His Noble Book (interpreted meaning): 'And We gave understanding to Sulaiman, and to each [of them] We gave judgment and knowledge' [38:26], indicating that a person can make mistakes; for example, Dawood erred.
