He is a Salafi brother who, as far as we know, is upon goodness and uprightness. I believe he is open to accepting advice when it is based on sound knowledge. I kindly advise all the brothers to refrain from such an approach." [end quote] Regarding your challenge, my brother, understand that the goal of these discussions is not to overcome one another, but to gain a deeper understanding of the Usool of our Salaf and to implement them properly in these matters. I translated Sheikh Yūsuf's words to emphasise some of these principles to you brothers, which you may be overlooking. As I have learned from my teachers (among them Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jazaa'iri, حفظه الله), people can be categorised into three groups: 1. Innovator – We boycott them and do not seek knowledge from them ولا كرامة 2. Salafi – We honour them and seek knowledge from them. 3. Salafi with errors that do not take them out of Salafiyyah – This group is further divided into two: a. If they are in the advisory stage, they remain our brother. b.
