Sheikh Abdulḥamīd Az-Zu'kari ḥafidhahullāh:

Indonesia was once a stronghold of Sufism, and when the Crusaders colonised it, they strongly implanted Christianity. However, Allah, the Almighty, honoured that land with the Salafi Da‘wah, just as He honoured other lands. But soon, the people of falsehood began working to divert those on the straight path. The group known as "Revival of Islamic Heritage Society" (Ihyaa At-Turath) used its Kuwaiti funds to disunite the Salafis around the world, taking with them a large number of them. Despite these challenges, the Salafi Da‘wah in Indonesia distinguished itself, and much good came from it. However, some individuals like Ja'far Al-Indoneesi deviated, taking others with him on a misguided path. By the grace of Allah, a blessed group remained steadfast, calling to Tawheed and the Sunnah, recognising the status and rank of scholars. Then came Luqman Ba ’Abduh and his group, who led some people into the despicable sectarianism of Hizbiyyah. Yet, the Salafi Da‘wah continued by Allah’s grace, attended to by scholars and callers to Islam, whether from within Indonesia or from Yemen and other countries, who would visit them for guidance and teaching. The country remains open to scholars, and may Allah protect it through Tawheed and guide it to all that is good. The state has not imposed restrictions on those who arrive, as many callers have entered the country by Allah’s grace, including the esteemed scholars of the Sunnah from Yemen and elsewhere. Recently, the Da'wah has continued to flourish. People have turned to knowledge and goodness. As for our brother Abu Hazim, he has made some mistakes, for which he is being advised, but they do not warrant declaring him an innovator or a Hizbi, or warning against him. It does not reach the level which some of those who يتقفرون العلم have made it out to be. And so, Abu Fairooz and his associates have begun to declare him an innovator and spread calls for boycotting him. Sheikh Abu Ammar intervened, offering advice, guidance, and reform, which brought much good, and this brought joy to Salafis around the world. Our Sheikh Yahya at the time spoke highly of this unity, and Sheikh Abu Ammar published a statement announcing this good news. I also spoke from this place, expressing happiness and gratitude for the unity of the people of the Sunnah. A few days ago, our Sheikh Yahya, may Allah preserve him, offered advice to his brothers in Indonesia, encouraging them towards great good as is the habit of scholars. Meanwhile, Abu Fairooz called for a mutual invocation of curses (mubahala) and exhibited arrogant behaviour. Therefore, I advise the Salafis in Indonesia and Malaysia, as Abu Fairooz has disrupted the Da'wah in both countries, not to pay attention to him. His fate is either repentance and returning to the ranks of the people of the Sunnah with his case remaining (mastoor) as it was, or he will continue his deviation and meet the same end as others before him, while the Da'wah will remain. I advise the Salafis in Indonesia and Malaysia not to be influenced by Abu Fairooz. He has transgressed against scholars, opposes them, and refuses to accept advice. We have advised him secretly and openly. Our brother Abul Yaman (sheikh Adnan) went to Indonesia, but he refused to meet him. Our brother (Sheikh) Abdullah Al-Iryani went there, but he declared him a Hizbi and began warning against him. Whoever goes there is attacked and he's at odds with them and the da'wah. Therefore, Abu Fairooz must either repent and return to his senses and join his brothers. Superiority lies in knowledge, Sunnah, tranquility, calmness, and proper distinction in religious matters - not this reckless type of distinction, or he will meet go as those before him went. The reason for my advice is to prevent people from being deceived by him, lest they become misled by him, similar to how Luqman and Ja'far misled those before... May Allah guide him and those with him, and we ask Allah for His assistance. All praise is due to Allah, Lord of all worlds.
