The speech of Sheikh Yusuf Al-Jazaa'iri ḥafidhahullāh: "If after being advised, he is stubborn and persistent, then he is no longer considered from Ahlus-Sunnah." Meaning: it becomes evident to him that he is involved in an act of innovation, yet he stubbornly insists on adhering to it. However, if someone persists upon a (subtle) innovation because he believes the clarification provided is inadequate, he is not considered an innovator! Reflect on Sheikh Muqbil's answer! Question: If a person falls into an innovation while adhering to the Salafi path and the proof has been established against him, does he still retain the description of being Salafi, or is he not given the absolute description of Salafiyyah? Can he be considered a Salafi innovator, similar to the notion of a sinful believer? Sheikh Muqbil raḥimahullāh: "This individual who practices innovation—if he is not stubborn and would return to the truth if it were made clear to him— فمثل هذا تطلق على هذا العمل بأنه بدعة ، ولا تطلق عليه بأنه مبتدع Then in this case, the action is labelled as innovation, but he should not be labelled an innovator. As for someone who has been advised and INSISTS ON THEIR POSITION, تصفه بالسلفية وأن عنده بدعة أو بدعتين أو ثلاث إذا لم تكن كبيرة . You may describe them as being a Salafi while acknowledging that they hold one or two MINOR innovations, as long as these are not MAJOR!!! However, someone who persists in celebrating occasions like the Mawlid (Prophet's birthday), or continues to observe unlegislated holidays such as the Hijra New Year, or celebrations on the 15th of Sha'ban, or on the 27th night of Rajab—these are all (clear) innovations. If a person refuses to abandon these practices after being advised, they are considered an innovator! ------------ From the recording: "Questions from the Women of Aden." https://t.me/almanhajussalafi/897
