"5. Using the speech of Shaykh Yahya Hafidhahullah and Shaykh Fawzaan Hafidhahullah, on the subject matter of Tabdee. This a reoccurring misunderstanding, Tabdee is not the only reason for stopping the taking knowledge from a person, or to not promote a person to the masses, so it's not correct to tie it to this, and bring up this topic everytime someone is advised against..." [end of quote] RESPONSE: This is indeed a recurring misunderstanding, especially given the statements being shared in your group chat. For instance, one of your members wrote: "Shaykh Abu Fayruz al-Indoneysi حفظه الله declares Muhammad Hisham Tahiri to be an innovator." [end quote]. This pattern of misunderstanding is not new, particularly considering how, in the early stages, you brothers made it seem as though Sheikh Hasan Ba Shu'aib was declaring tabdee' on Sheikh Ruhaili, Sheikh Badr, and others. It was only after I personally approached the sheikh to clarify the matter, and he confirmed the opposite, that you shifted to a different argument: they remain within the fold of Salafiyyah, but should be boycotted! Even on the issue of boycotting, your approach lacks clear and consistent guidelines. For example: You prohibit sharing my links in your group, even though all I have done is present the truth (though the speaker of this truth happens to be on your boycott list). Meanwhile, you permit links from channels that unjustly declare Sheikh Saleem Al-Hilali to be an innovator!!! I ask you: Which is worse, quoting a Salafi Sheikh whose mistakes do not warrant tabdee', or unjustly labelling a Salafi Sheikh an innovator? According to you brothers, which scholars outside of Yemen are free from issues? Some of the same criticisms you use to justify boycotting certain Mashaayekh also apply to prominent scholars like Sheikh Fawzan and Sheikh Saalih Aal Ash-Sheikh. Making distinctions between two similar matters is a sign of inconsistency; something our pristine Salafi manhaj is completely free from. For this reason, it is crucial to approach this matter using the proper guidelines of Salafiyyah so that we have clarity on who should be abandoned for their mistakes and who should not.
