"1. In the relaying of the first observation against At-Tahiri, there is no mention of him calling Ali bin Hassan Al-Halabi a Shaykh alongside using his poetry as a point of benefit. When relaying an affair it's required to be relayed correctly and precisely, so the reader won't be suprised lateron with a difference in what took place, which will bring about bad thoughts of you." RESPONSE:
Abu Atiyyah had no intention of providing a full quotation. His goal was simply to summarise the key points of criticism before addressing them, with the specific observation here being his (Sh. At-Tahiri) referring to Al-Halabi in a positive light.
The use or omission of the term "Sheikh" makes no real difference, especially when you consider how scholars, when refuting misguided individuals, still refer to them as "Sheikh"
In this case, however, the point of criticism was mentioning him positively by quoting lines of poetry from him, which is exactly what Abu Atiyyah highlights.
Once again, this criticism lacks substantial merit. It's crucial to recognise that getting caught up in secondary concerns, detracts from resolving the core issue.
