THE WRITER STATES: "If only this speech (referring to Abu Atiyyah's clarification) was sent in private as the questioning took place in private before putting it out in public. I tried to contact our brothers in private through you akhi Abu Maryam, in order to send our brothers the speech of the Mashaayikh, namely the speech of Shaykh Abdulghani and Shaykh Mansuur and Shaykh Najeeb...But as you made this public in this group..." [end quote] RESPONSE: 1. Abu Atiyyah clearly mentioned in his clarification that he was responding to various requests, not exclusively yours. 2. Before you decided to contact Abu Mariam privately, wasn’t this topic already being discussed publicly in your group chat? Check your group chat where one of the members wrote: "Shaykh Abu Fayruz al-Indoneysi حفظه الله declares Muhammad Hisham Tahiri to be an innovator." [end quote]. Therefore, it is not accurate to say that Abu Mariam was the one who brought this issue to public attention in your group. Moreover, your comment "If only this speech was sent privately" lacks substance. The greater concern should be the reckless declarations of tabdee’ occurring in your group chat. This is becoming a recurring issue, with young brothers residing in the West raising and discussing controversial matters without adequate insight. It’s insufficient to claim that you’re merely translating or conveying the speech of the Mashaayekh. As I previously pointed out to you in our previous discussions, members often add their own commentary or derive their own conclusions. Furthermore, your group includes individuals with varying levels of understanding, including some new to Islam. So, it’s not an appropriate platform for discussions regarding the status of specific individuals, particularly those still within the realms of Salafiyyah, and determining whether their errors warrant boycotting. I remind you of the wise words of 'Ali (raḍiyallāhu anhu): «حَدِّثُوا النَّاسَ بما يَعْرِفُونَ أتُحِبُّونَ أنْ يُكَذَّبَ اللهَ ورَسولُهُ» "Speak to people in a way they understand. Do you wish for them to deny Allah and His Messenger?" Not all speech should be shared openly. Wisdom lies in addressing individuals and groups in accordance with their level of understanding and to avoid presenting them with topics that may confuse them or be difficult for them to grasp. This is crucial in preventing such matters from leading people to reject Salafiyyah or, worse, to disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger.
