Sheikh Muḥammad Nāṣir Ad-Dīn Al-Albāni raḥimahullāh said:
«أخشى أن يزداد الأمر شدة، فينسى الناس حكم الغناء حتى إذا ما قام أحد ببيانه أنكر عليه ونسب إلى التشدد والرجعية»
"I fear that the situation may worsen, leading people to forget the ruling on music. When someone eventually explains it, they may be criticised and accused of extremism and backwardness."
[تحريم آلات الطرب 116]

This statement not only sheds light on the unfortunate reality that lies ahead, but also serves as a reminder of the past.
The opinion permitting music may currently be regarded as a minority view among Salafees, similar to how the permissibility of Tasweer was once considered a minority opinion. However, over time, the situation shifted to the point where speaking out against Tasweer has become somewhat of a taboo. The issue of music seems to be following a similar trend, as Sheikh Albāni raḥimahullāh points out.
We leave the next generation to visit this prediction to see how accurate it turns out.
