Sheikh Al-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah raḥimahullāh said regarding the Āyah:
﴿هُوَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلَ رَسُولَهُ بِالْهُدَى ودين الحق لِيُظْهِرَهُ عَلَى الدِّينِ كُلِهِ، وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ﴾
"It is He (Allāh) who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to make it prevail over all religions, even though the polytheists dislike it" [At-Tawbah 33, As-Saff 9]
«ولم يظهر دِينُ مُحمد ﷺ قَط عَلى غيره من الأديان إلا بأهل السنة»
"The religion of Muḥammad ﷺ has never prevailed over other religions except through Ahlus-Sunnah."
