BENEFIT 245: Closing The Masjid

Sheikh Muqbil raḥimahullāh said: "The ruling on closing the masjid is that it is an evil act (munkar), and it is not permissible to close the masjid [without a valid reason]. For instance, one may want to come to the masjid at the time of Dhuḥā (the time between sunrise and Dhuhr) or, may Allāh bless you, at night. It is only allowed if there is a legitimate concern, such as fear of the carpets being stolen or other serious issues. However, closing it due to unfounded fears or to wage war against 'the bearded ones' or the general worshippers, this is an evil act. And we seek Allāh’s assistance."
