The Second Case: Rejection (Al-Juḥūd)

Description: This refers to ruling by something other than what Allāh has revealed while rejecting Allāh's judgment. Ruling: Scholars unanimously agree that this constitutes major disbelief. The evidence for this ruling is based on two points: First Point: The consensus among Ahlus-Sunnah that anyone who rejects any aspect of Allāh's religion is considered a disbeliever. Ibn Bāz, may Allāh have mercy on him, said: «وهكذا الحكم في حق من جحد شيئاً مما أوجبه الله ... فإنه كافر مرتد عن الإسلام ... بإجماع أهل العلم» "This ruling applies to anyone who rejects anything that Allāh has made obligatory... Such a person is considered an apostate and a disbeliever by the unanimous agreement of the scholars." [Al-Fatāwā (78/7)]. Second Point: The consensus among Ahlus-Sunnah that anyone who rejects the obligation to rule by what Allāh has revealed is considered a disbeliever. Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm, may Allāh have mercy on him, said regarding this matter: «وهذا ما لا نزاع فيه بين أهل العلم...فإنه كافر؛ الكفر الناقل عن الملة» "There is no dispute among the scholars in this regard... Such a person is a Kāfir; a Kufr (disbelief) which removes one from the fold of Islam." [Taḥkīm Al-Qawānīn, p. 14]. There are four issues related to this case:
