BENEFIT 220: Cooperating upon righteousness and piety with the righteous and the wretched

Our esteemed Sheikh, Yahya ibn Ali Al-Hajuri, ḥafidhahullāh said:
والمؤمنون مأمورون بالتحاب، وبالتآخي، وبالتواصي بالحق وبالصبر، والتناصح، وبالتعاون على البر والتقوى، ومن كان على فجور وعلى باطل فنصره دفعه عن ذلك الفجور والباطل، وهذا من التعاون معه، وليس من التعاون معه تأييده على منكره وباطله، بل هذا غشٌ وخيانة.
"Believers are commanded to love one another, to foster brotherhood, to enjoin one another to truth and patience, to offer sincere advice, and to cooperate in righteousness and piety. If someone engages in immoral or false actions, aiding them means guiding them away from such immorality and falsehood. This is cooperating with them. On the other hand, supporting them in their wrongdoing and falsehood is deceit and betrayal."
