Downloading beneficial videos of scholars and converting them into audio format

Sheikh Fat-h Al-qadasi ḥafidhahullāh said: "What I believe in this matter—and Allah knows best— is that if audio resources are available, it is better to use them. Scholars like Sheikh Ibn Baz and others, who knowledge is sought from, have audio recordings that are free from images. There are fatwa websites offering MP3 formats without videos, which should suffice. Look for and use such material, may Allah bless you. However, if there are no such resources available except on sites with videos of animate beings, and the student is in significant need of the content to resolve an issue or clarify a matter, then it is permissible to download the content from these sites and convert it to MP3 format, removing the video. So, as understood, may Allah bless you, the point is not to rush to sites with videos, given the abundance of alternatives. For instance, videos of Sheikh Ibn Baz—may Allah have mercy on him—are very few. His fatwa site offers written and audio formats. Seek these audio files from their original sources, may Allah bless you. If one cannot find them anywhere except on a video site and there is a necessity for the audio material to resolve a dispute, include it in a book, or teach the masses, then it is hoped that there is no harm in converting the video to another format and removing the video, Insha'Allah. This is because the intention is not to keep the video but to acquire the audio while removing or deleting the image. And Allah knows best." @almanhajussalafi
