Tasweer (CCVT) in the Masjid (6)

Sheikh Abu Bilal hafidahullah was asked if it is permissible to install cameras outside or inside the masjid, and if it it permissible to pray in such a masjid, considering it is close to one's home and the other masjids being far away? He responded: "Installing cameras inside the masjid is forbidden, and installing cameras outside the masjid to film people is also forbidden, as it involves filming living beings, which is impermissible. Using cameras to film living beings [is impermissible], outside or inside the masjid; which is a greater violation, as it constitutes disrespect for the house of Allah and shows a lack of regard for His boundaries. Masjids have become disrespected by the presence of cameras. What benefit does a camera offer inside the masjid? What benefit is there? Perhaps outside the masjid (i.e. Businesses, etc.), one may seek a legal verdict..., but even then, this does not justify the use of prohibited means for such purposes." @almanhajussalafi
