Sheikh Muhammad Ba Jammāl was asked about offering Salatul Janazah in a masjid that has tasweer.
He began speaking about the prohibition of Tasweer, citing the evidences in this regard, then he went on to say:
"...However, if you are forced or compelled to perform some acts of worship and obedience that Allah Almighty has encouraged and commanded, and you have no other means but to be pictured, then the sin falls upon the one who pictured you and the one who compels you to do so. Therefore, we advise to avoid such situations. If a person needs to pray over a funeral and the only available masjid is one where Tasweer occurs, then it is akin to praying in the Sacred Masjid (Makkah); should we then abandon praying in the Sacred Masjid due to Tasweer?! Should we abandon praying in the Prophet's Masjid because of Tasweer?! The sin is on them, the ones who have established this practice. Our duty is to advise and denounce this in the best possible manner. Tasweer was previously prohibited, even in the Sacred Masjid, and violators faced fines, with their phones confiscated. But now, this rule has been relaxed, which is truly regrettable. It is disheartening to see large numbers of Muslims, both men and women, young and old, whose primary concern in the Sacred Masjid and the Prophet's Masjid is taking photos."
