Why does Sheikh Rashād Adh-Dhali'ee discourage his students from wearing black imāmah's?

We advised our brothers to avoid wearing black 'imāmahs, not because it is forbidden—for the Prophet ﷺ wore a black 'imāmah as mentioned in Sahih Muslim: "He entered Makkah on the day of its conquest wearing a black 'imāmah"—but because wearing black 'imāmahs in our time has become a symbol of two misguided groups.
The first group: The heretical Rawāfidh who have started wearing black 'imāmah.
The second group: The Khawārij, known as Al-Qā'idah or ISIS.
The Prophet ﷺ said, "Whoever imitates a people is one of them," so we should not imitate them.
The Prophet ﷺ abandoned certain practices because they were symbols of the misguided people of his time. Similarly, his companions and the pious predecessors abandoned some permissible practices to avoid resembling the misguided. For example, in the early days, one of the distinguishing signs of the Khawārij was the frequent shaving of their heads. The Prophet ﷺ said, "Their sign will be the shaving of their heads," as collected in Sahih Muslim.
Many of the pious predecessors disliked frequently shaving their heads because it resembled the Khawārij.
Someone might say: "I am a single student, and if I wear a white turban, it will get dirty quickly, and I will need a new one every two days, unlike a black turban which I can wear for an entire week."
We say: Wear a grey or brown turban, or any other dark color that serves the same purpose as black, thereby avoiding resemblance to the misguided ones.
Moreover, the Prophet ﷺ predominantly wore white, and it was his preferred clothing. He encouraged it, saying: "Wear white clothes, for they are the best and purest, and shroud your dead in them."
Wearing white is better, purer, closer to the Sunnah, more in line with the Prophet's practice, and more aesthetically pleasing. Therefore, black should be avoided for this reason, not because it is forbidden. We do not say it is forbidden, as the Prophet ﷺ himself wore it, but it should be avoided to steer clear of resembling the misguided. And Allah knows best.
