BENEFIT 202: Do these type of polls fall under the voting which the scholars warn against?

"This is consultation and adopting what is most suitable for those who will attend the lesson. It is not for the purpose of legislating rulings, and Allah knows best." Sheikh Hussein Al-Hateebi ḥafidhahullāh: ليس منها ولو تركه لكان أحسن "It does not come under it, but avoiding it is better." Sheikh Abdulhamīd ḥafidhahullāh explained that: ما يظن الأمر يصل إلى الانتخابات، ولكن ينصح إذا كان العمل دائما على الأكثرية فالأولى أن يجتنب لأن فيه ما فيه. He does not believe this matter reaches the level of elections. However, if decisions are consistently made based on the majority, it is advisable to avoid it due to the associated concerns. Sheikh Abu Amr ḥafidhahullāh said: إذا كان يشاورهم ويأخذ بالأنسب والأفضل لا بقول الأكثر فهذه ليست انتخابات.
