Salafiyyah is not ascribed to personalities, schools, nor locations. It is merely an ascription to the Sunnah and the Salaf! Thus, there's no such thing as: - Salafiyyah Baaziyyah (ascribed to Sh. Ibn baz) - Salafiyyah Uthaymeeniyyah (ascribed to Sh. Uthaymin) - Salafiyyah Albaaniyyah (ascribed to Sh. Albani) - Salafiyyah Waadi'iyyah (ascribed to Sh. Muqbil) - Salafiyyah Jaamiyyah (ascribed to Sh. Muhammad Amaan Al-Jami) - Salafiyyah Madkhaliyyah (ascribed to Sh. Rabee') Just as there's no such thing as: - Salafiyyah Saudiyyah (ascribed to Saudi) - Salafiyyah Yamaaniyyah/Dammaajiyyah (ascribed to Yemen/Dammaj) - Salafiyyah Misriyyah (ascribed to Egypt) - Salafiyyah Urduniyyah (ascribed to Jordan) Salafiyyah is one! It doesn't come in variant forms. Ascribing Salafiyyah to a particular individual/location is a mistake. In fact, oftentimes those who ascribe Salafiyyah to particular individuals/locations, do so in order to scare people away from Salafiyyah. For example, you may hear them say: this is Jaamiyyah, or Madaakhilah, or this is Saudi Salafi, i.e. Don't follow this way. Salafiyyah is one; whether one is in Makkah, Gambia, Libya, Britain or Australia. If, really and truly, there are two variants of Salafiyyah existent from one region to another, then we say, ONE OF THEM IS NOT SALAFIYYAH; because Salafiyyah is one. الحق واحد لا يتعدد! Please note, we are not referring to differences in fiqhi issues here. We are merely concerned with difference in manhaj. Moreover, the Salafiyyah of today is the same Salafiyyah that was present during the time of the Salaf. It has been preserved and passed down to us generation after generation. So, it's incorrect to distinguish between present day Salafiyyah and the Salafiyyah of the predecessors.
