بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
Recently Shaykh Salīm Al-Hilālī visited the UK and the fruits of his Da'wah were evident, as many people benefitted from his enlightening lectures. This left a bad taste in the mouths of those disheartened by the spread of the Salafī Dawah from Masjid Al-Imām Muqbil in London. Thus, we find - after the Shaykh has returned to his homeland - criticisms about the Shaykh and those who invited him for reasons that Allāh knows best. From these futile refutations/clarifications is what was written by Taqweem Ahsan Shah of Masjid Sunnah. An individual not known for knowledge and whose Dawah years are well and gone. He states: "No he isn't salafi. He used to be until he and his companion Ali hasan al-halabi chose a different path by adopting the manhaj of abul hasan al-ma'rabi." It's amazing the time we live in, people like this individual - not known for knowledge or studying with any scholar - standing forward to tell people who and who isn't Salafi! No Da'wah, and he is barely seen in Masjid Sunnah for congregational prayers, yet he speaks so audaciously. How true is the speech of the Prophet ﷺ: ((إذا لم تستحي فاصنع ما شئت‏)) "If you have no shame, then do as you wish." [Bukhāri] It is well known from Shaykh Salīm Al-Hilāli that he repented from the ways of Al-Halabī and his likes, which has been documented by him as you'll read in the article attached. It seems you're ignorant of this, so on what grounds do you speak?! He states: "Allah decreed that Hilaali and his companion Ali, to fall out over dunya matters connected to money." Even if we were to accept that they fell out due to money, what has that got to do with Shaykh Salīm's stance regarding not only Halabī, but also many other hizbis?! Surely, he would fall out with only Halabī? Why has he refuted many of those upon the way of Halabī? He states: "Some years later Hilaali suddenly reappeared in Dammaj (while yahya alhajoori was 'in charge') claiming to be on the manhaj of Allaamah Muqbil ibn Haadi, which was not true. Because neither Haajoori nor Hilaali by that point were upon the manhaj of Al-Allaamah Muqbil ibn Haadi." Did Shaykh Salīm Al-Hilāli suddenly appear in Dammaj? Of course not! Shaykh Yahyā Al-Hajūri was asked regarding the Jordanians and in his answer, he mentioned that Shaykh Salīm was with them. When Shaykh Salīm heard this, he contacted Shaykh Yahyā Al-Hajūri by writing to him. Shaykh Yahyā read the letter in his lesson in front of the students. Shaykh Salīm clarified that he was not with Halabī and his likes. Unlike Taqweem, we accept the clarifications of anyone who repents and clarifies his haal - as is the Aqīdah of Ahlus-Sunnah. As for many of the Hizbiyūn and the Haddādīyah, they continue to use old mistakes against people even after they have repented. Here is his letter that was read in the lesson: https://youtu.be/stUM1YX42FM?si=2A3Ne4DIQf4iC6sW Shaykh Salīm Al-Hilāli is from the well-known students of Imām Al-Albāni, and Shaykh Yahya Al-Hajūri is from the students of Imām Muqbil Al-Wādi'ī who was chosen to be his successor from the rest of the students. So if neither of them are upon the manhaj of Imām Muqbil, then could you please mention which main student of Imām Muqbil in Yemen is upon his manhaj? Also, if Shaykh Yahyā was an innovator or Haddādi at the time, then please tell us who preceded you in this claim? Even if he was declared an innovator by other than Shaykh Rabī' at that time, you were not interested - as we will mention in the next point. He states: "Haajoori had become a haddaadi while hilaali was upon the manhaj of Al-Ma'rabi. Both along with their followers, were openly criticising the kibaar of the ulema along with a host of other deviations..." As for Shaykh Salīm, then we have already mentioned his stance regarding Al-Ma'ribī. "(Shaykh Yahyā) ...was openly criticising the Kibār..."
