Sheikh Al-Albani, may Allah have mercy on him, responds:
The answer has already preceded.
سبق السيف العذل
I previously mentioned that the Companions differed on some secondary issues, but, praise be to Allah, they did not differ on any matter of creed, unlike the later generations. The Salaf, praise be to Allah, had no Mu'tazilites in their midst, or Murji'ites, or Ash'arites, or Maturidites. They were all, as we would say today, Salafis; because they all followed the leader of the Salafis, the Prophet, peace be upon him, without deviating to the right or the left, and without allowing their intellects and opinions to dominate in matters of the unseen.
For instance, the Mu'tazilites denied that Allah will be seen in the Hereafter based on what evidence? They argued that it is impossible for a weak-sighted human to see the All-powerful Creator. They did not accept the concept of "istawa" (Allah's ascension over the Throne) because they deemed it illogical. Our Lord has made it clear to us that the system of the Day of Judgment differs from that of this transient world. Hence, He has informed us of matters of the unseen for us to believe in and submit to as stated in the previous Ayah
{ويسلموا تسليما}
'and they submit with full submission'. We should not say that this is illogical or far from reason and logic. Such deviations were committed by the Mu'tazilites, Ash'arites, and others.
